Day 12 - P90X3 - Accelerator

Today we did the P90X3 – Accelerator.

Duration: 30 min + 1.32 dmin cooldown.

Wanting to do something different, but still get a great workout, we tried the P90X3 Accelerator.

You went back and forth between cardio moves and then different floor moves.

Each move was about a minute long. During the minute, you’d go back and forth between different speeds, as Tony said that doing intervals was what really made the workout.

He said that the moves were done in 2 speeds, medium and fast.

To me, some of them were medium and fast, and others were fast, and super fast. They really looked like you were in fast forward! There was no way I was going to keep up doing them “fast”, but that’s perfectly ok. As with all of the other workouts, you do what you can!

The did have a modifier, so that was nice if you couldn’t do the full moves. He not only did things slower, but a lot of time made the exercises a little bit lower impact.

Most of the moves were pretty simple to do…except for the last one, “Donkey Kicks”, which just watching them do was amazing – there was no way I could even try it. Otherwise I think anyone could do the moves, even if they couldn’t keep up with the speed.

It was a fun workout, but a lot of going back and forth between standing and floor moves. If you don’t like floor moves (and doing a lot of planks), you’re not going to want to do this workout.

Otherwise, it’s different, and great for a change.
