I really like some of the clothes at Talbots.
Every time I go in there, I see some really nice items – usually sweaters, that I would like to buy.
What I don’t like, is their prices. I don’t mind paying a bit more for quality, but I just can’t justify paying that much more for quality.
So I wait…and I wait.
Different sales come and go, but the prices are still high. And so I wait some more.
And then finally, the “End of Season Clearance” event happens!
The prices are already marked down, and then are 70% off. This brings the items up to 80% off of their original prices. At this point, I can finally justify buying the high quality clothes, knowing that I’ll be comfortable with what I’m paying for them.
Here’s a great example. I love their cashmere sweaters, but at full price (usually around $149), there is just no chance of me buying one. Take a 25% off sale, even a 50% off sale…I’m still not going to spend $74.50, even though it probably is worth it. But right now, it’s down to $35.99.

If you’re not looking for cashmere, don’t worry, there are over 1,000 items in the End of Season Sale. So if you like their clothes/accessories, you’ll probably find something you’ve been waiting for the price to drop on.
At the moment, over 400 items are under $25…which if you’ve ever been in a Talbots store, you know doesn’t happen often. So this is a great time to find what you’ve been looking for, without having to spend a lot.
Also, if they don’t have your size online, don’t worry. It looks like you can “reserve” your size in store if they have it at a store near you. So they’ll put it on hold until you can get there. I think that’s really helpful, especially if you can’t run down to your nearest Talbots right now.
I love passing on a really good deal when I find it…and I was pretty excited last night to see the prices, so I wanted to share.
