BeachBody on Demand Day 16: RevAbs – Power Intervals

Day 16 - RevAbs - Power Intervals

We wanted to try something completely new today, and ended up trying RevAbs – Power Intervals with Brett Hoebel.

Duration: 27 min including cooldown (although says 30 min on the main screen.)
Required Equipment: Dumbbells (although you didn’t really need them if you didn’t want to use them. You could still do all of the exercises without them.)

This was the first exercise routine we’ve done with Brett as the trainer.

It was interesting.

I think it’s a great workout for beginners. If you’re someone who is worried about doing different fancy moves that you can’t keep up with – it’s not an issue at all here. Believe me! Anyone can do these exercises.

Basically, you do some light stretching to warm up.

Then you do 3 exercises over and over and over and over.

Then you do the same light stretching to cool down.

If you want to sweat, but don’t want to do anything complicated, this is it.

The 3 exercises? Lunges, Crossovers (similar to jumping jacks), and what he calls squat thrusts (but are basically burpees.)

I will give him this. When I first started writing this post, I wrote down that there were 6 exercises…and then of course could only come up with the 3 since that is all there was. But at least it didn’t feel like 3 exercises over and over again.

It was definitely repetitive, and if it went on for any longer would have gotten annoying…but for the amount of time that we did these exercises, it was OK.

Again, if you’re a beginner, this is probably a great routine to start with. It’s only 3 exercises, but you keep doing them over and over again, so you can do them any way you want.

There is a modifier to help make the exercises easier.

I can’t see doing this often, as it would get very boring since it’s so repetitive, but once in a while, I think it’s good. I did get a good workout, and was sweating by the end of it.
