Get a Pet – or Spend time with One (31 Days to a Happier You: Day 6)

Get a Pet

Cats, dogs, and other pets make (most of) us happy. Just thinking about a cute pet can make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. Who hasn’t laughed hysterically or said “awwww” watching an online video of a cat or dog doing something silly or adorable?

When you spend time with a pet, you get a lot of benefits out of it. Not only will your mood improve making you happier, but you’ll be less stressed and anxious as well! It’ll help you live in the moment.

If you have a pet, it also gives you purpose, as you have someone that depends on you and you have to take care of. It also makes you less lonely, which is one reason they suggest people get pets.

If you can’t have a pet in your own home, you can still get the same benefits by visiting someone else’s. You can always volunteer at your local animal shelter. You can walk dogs or pet cats to help socialize them. You’ll get just as much of a benefit as they do when the adorable animals give you their attention and love!

Enjoy,
